I was also very disappointed by this splint. The primary support is at the side and the neoprene and velcro wraps allow too much movement.

Im having to take it off half way through the night if not earlier. It is making the bottom of my foot burn like crazy. The metal on the side of my ankle bone also kinda hurts but I'm not ready to give up yet. Its way better than the ones that my physical therapist rigged up a few years ago.

DOES NOT WORK. I hoped this night splint would be stable, but the neoprene above the ankle just stetches--allowing my foot to drop without support. Very disappointed.

You're right this is the most comfortable nightsplint on the market. It is the third one I've tried & able to sleep with on both feet through the night, however, it is not providing enough dorsiflexion as the first person said. Even if I wrap as tight as I can get, my foot still moves too much. In the middle of night it feels as though I'm not wearing one at all. I have it adjusted to the 90 degree position. The more rigid bulky nightsplints work better but are uncomfortable to wear. I went back to using them & alternate feet every night so I can sleep.

I have tried several Night Splint products over the years and find them impossible to sleep in throughout the night. I ordered the cub night splint and was skeptical at first as to whether it would work, since it was so different than the ones I had tried in the past. It was extremely comfortable and less bulky. I slept great from the first night on and saw great improvements in just a few days. As a regular runner and having PF pain on and off for 5 years, I wore this for 4 weeks and had no more heel pain.

For those who gave negative reviews after having this as their first night splint, once you try others you'll probably be back here to re-write your review. This night splint is the most comfortable and definitely gets the job done.

I found that the product did not have enough stability with just the side brace and screw adjustment. Even with the screw setting in the furthest position, you could easily move your foot back to 90 degrees or more. If you tighten the velco bands enough to hold the position, you cut off the circlation and it became very uncomfortable after a few hours in bed. I think a positive holding splint would be much better.

Made an immediate difference the first night I wore it. Highly recommended

Quality product, very well made. Large; however, is about men's size 10. I should have purchased an Xlarge, which was not available from this vendor. Even though a bit small, the really help with resting and sleeping.

The most comfortable splint I've tried.

ONLY USED 1 NIGHT.
COULD NOT SLEEP WITH THEM ON.

The cub night splint really helped me. If you are someone whose pain is much worse in the morning, this product made a world of difference.

Works great in helping my PF to heal. The metal brace that goes down the outside of the ankle however does cause pain on the small bony ball on the outside of my ankle. I often have to loosen the brace in the night to get back to sleep. But after 3 years of pain from PF this thing has made me believe I can finally beat it!

It is too uncomfortable to sleep in all night. I usually take it off after about two hours.

I was in severe pain from plantar fascia, and the cub has helped a great deal with that. But, it actually took several weeks to relieve the pain, and I feel that's because it does not stretch the area as much as I would have liked. Also, I must wear it every night in order not to have pain the next morning. I would recommend it, though, especially if you use it faithfully every night. It will eventually relieve the agonizing pain.

I find it gives to much, therefore your foot doesnt stretch in the way it should do. I just ordered the nightsplint that got the highest rating, because I am not happy with this one and it didnt reduce any pain or discomfort so far.

This product helped me tremendously. I couldn't wear it all night the first few times that I put it on but I worked up to it and it didn't seem to take long for my foot to feel better. After the 4th or 5th time wearing it I was able to walk the next morning with no problems.

It doesn't work. I could straighten out my leg quite far even when all the straps were snug.

This was my first use of a night splint, so I can't compare. I thought it was very uncomfortable, so much so that I had trouble staying asleep at night. The hard sides of the splint irritated my ankle bone and prevented me from sleeping on my side. I still have heel spurs but am very hesitant to purchase another product.

I experienced significant relief of my plantar fasciitis in the mornings with this product. However, my doctor said that this kind of product merely stretches the fascia and does not help my foot create a new arch. For this I now use custom corrective orthotics during the day and at night I use FABS as well as the Cub Night Splints.

I would improve The Cub by (1) including a toe wedge (2) moving the shin brace to the front rather than the side (it makes it too easy to flex, though it's probably not a problem when you're asleep) (3) make the bottom out of thicker plastic so it would be more rigid overall.

I had plantar fascitiis for about one year. I don't think the physiotherapy was very useful in my case. I had custom orthotics made, too. Only when I purchase the Cub splint did I feel that the healing began. I'm back running (albeit carefully) now and I'm much happier as a result. So your product was definitely worth it. Your product, by far, was the most comfortable splint I've tried.

It works well and is comfortable. I have noticed improvement.

The Cub Night Splint has definitely helped my plantar fasciitis. Before I started wearing the splint, I could barely walk on my foot each morning. The doctor said I was basically re-injuring it every morning when I stood up, so it wasn't healing. When I wear the night splint, though, my foot feels much better in the morning and throughout the day. I can tell the difference if I miss a couple of nights! I definitely would recommend it.

I have insomnia so am up walking around all night and thus can't use the splint because the directions say not to walk while wearing it. It seems well designed and is comfortable. But taking it on and off to walk about makes a lot of noise with the velcro and wakes my husband, so the end result is that I don't wear the splint. If the splint were designed for short bursts of walking...to other rooms of the house, that would be better.

Very comfortable. Easy to move in bed under sheets and covers.

It seems to have no effect and shoe salemen and podiatrists have said it's useless.

This product definately initiated my recovering from an 8 month long battle with plantar fascitis. I have to attribute this product and the use of an orthodic for being able to run again after close to a year lay off.

the device is smaller than others like it, but it is still difficult to sleep with. It also did not keep my foot at the proper angle, it allowed my foot to straighten. And, the bottom line is that I did not get any relief from this whatsoever. Waste of money, just like the foot flex and the ice wrap that I purchased from this company

The Cub Night Splint is very comfortable and easy to put on and take off. It has been very useful in reducing the pain from heel spurs in conjunction with my doctor's treatment and pain medication. To me the price is about $10 too high. I would have bought it earlier if it had been priced lower. In addition, it needs a wear pad on the back edge as I wore a small hole in the outer cover and foam lining right on the back edge of the heel within two weeks of wearing it. For the price I paid, I expected it to last quite a while longer before showing any such wear.

I certainly recommend the Cub Night Splint. It works! I was very pleased with the result. I know that it shortened the healing time for me.

Night splints not good for my feet because they put too much pressure on the back of my heel which is very painful.

It helps me sleep without pointin my toes.
Just what I needed!
Thanks!

The Cub Night Splint is reasonbly comfortable and does seem to help with my heel pain.
Rating: 5 by Darryl
I have not been wearing it as much as I should (not every night). But when I do wear it for a few nights in a row, it does help.

It seems to help a lot. It is lightweight and easy to put on and off. The center strap can sometimes cut into the top of your foot and become irritating after a few hours. That is the only thing that keeps me from rating it as a "5".

I think that it helps, but I am not completely better yet. It is very
comfortable in comparison to some Thst others bought!

I think its a miracle - I can walk again with no noticable pain!!! I also got heel inserts to use for my shoes (heel that pain). Both together have completely solved my problem of pain, and I won't be needing surgery after all. You have really helped me, and in my job I work with seniors - so this has enabled me to continue working with them, which is very rewarding to me and to them. I walk all day long, and I can keep my job because the pain is no more!!!!

The splint helps with the pain associated with the first steps after getting out of bed. Because it is not rigid, it doesn't really keep my foot at the angle that is set. When I wake up, my foot is usually pointed down somewhat despite the splint. Since there is a slight pressure to stretch the heel and because it reminds me in the morning to make sure that I try and stretch it out before I get up, it seems to work for me, though. The padding makes it easy to sleep in so it may be the best trade off between a more rigid splint and a good night's sleep.

It seems to help. Thanks

I think it is a good product but I have trouble wearing things on my foot at night so I didn't use it every night like I should. My feet are really sensitive that way. If a person can use it every night for several weeks I think it would help alot. When I did use it the pain in the morning was not bad at all, so it does the job.

I think it definitely is helping with my plantar fascitis. The only drawback is the size. I have a women's size 8 foot but the product seems too large. I am using it, but I now think a smaller size would have been better.

I have only used this splint in the 5 degree position. I have thick calves and I can't really get it tight enough to keep the 5 degree bend, but it is helpful in keeping my foot from hurting when I get out of bed. It took a bit to get used to, but it doesn't hurt. It may be a little warm in the summer. I would recommend it.

I've switched podiatrists and this one wants me to stop the splint and try more stretching. I think I'm overstretched. My knee can get to within 8" of the floor with my foot flat! Anyhow, no splint at the moment, and I'm stiff in the am again.

I have been very satisfied that the comfortable design of the cub night splint has encouraged my compliance. Having not worn another type of design, I'm not sure if the stretch is more gentle because the splint is soft, but my symptoms and the pain of plantar fasciitis have improved.

This night splint helps me a great deal after hours of working, walking, or for that thought, any activity that takes standing on my feet. This puts my foot in the proper position to relax the muscle correctly. Thanks so much!
Rating: 2 by Anhata
The night splint works for me less than half the time. It's very hard to get the right amount of tension on the velcro straps. Too loose and it doesn't hold my foot at an angle, too tight and it wakes me up in the middle of the night with a lot of pain and I have to take it off. The middle strap that goes across the top of my arch tends to dig in and is difficult to adjust so that it doesn't. And there's supposed to be a "toe wedge" but I've never been able to tell that it has one. The splint works correctly about fourty percent of the time, all told, and has done nothing overall for my plantar fascitis condition.

Would highly recommend this product. I was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis and was experiencing extreme pain to the point where I could barely walk. I did daily exercises given to me by a physical therapist, which only provided minimal relief. I then decided to try the cub night splint and after the first night I had positive results. After about 4-5 weeks of wearing the cub night splint (and doing nothing else) I no longer experienced any pain.

Way, way too small for my size 15 feet.

I've been using the cub night splints for a couple of months now and have found them much easier to wear throughout the night than the more traditional hard plastic ones I got from my physical therapist. Those actually caused burning nerve pain in my feet, so I had to find a safe and soft alternative that wouldn't pinch my tarsal tunnel nerve. I'm a side sleeper and have no problems falling asleep with these on (or being woken up by them). I have noticed a significant improvement in my over all bottom of foot pain while wearing the splints, though it hasn't cured my heels which is why I'm not giving them a 5. My morning heel pain was never very bad and is even less now that I'm wearing these. Last thought is that the velcro straps have gotten full of blanket fuzz, but I think that has more to do with the fact that I never tuck in my sheets!

I wake up in the middle of every night and take it off because it is uncomfortable. It does not provide enough dorsiflexion. I stuff a triangular wedge in at the toe to increase the dorsiflexion. I did not return it for three reasons (1) it's better than nothing - I think it helps a little (2) you can't return it if "used" which appears to mean "if removed from the mailing package." (3) I could not find the packing list (which is the real reason). I had plantar fasciitis about 10 years ago and constructed a night splint from half a walking cast, triangular blocks and an ace bandage. That homemade night splint effectively healed the PF within a week or two. I'd give this thing a couple months. I heartily endorse the night splint principle, but not this particular splint. I wish I had the money to try another.
