I think a tennis ball is a bit softer and better shaped to the arch of the foot and a lot cheaper. |

The Foot Log gives a workout and a massage at the same time. I keep it under my computer desk and use it when I'm sitting there working or playing games. Pros: Very useful product. |

I adore my Foot Log.
I truly believe that the Foot Log--along with other outstanding products I've purchased from heelspurs.com (especially the Pinnacle PowerStep, which I could not live without at this point) is contributing very significantly to the healing of my PF. I'm SO glad I decided to purchase this foot massager over any of the others. The Foot Log is at once a treat for your feet AND serious therapeutic business.
I've been using the Foot Log everyday since I got it about a week ago. I keep it handy under my desk and I find that daily use really does pay off in the reduction of PF-related pain. Plus, the Foot Log's gentle but firm massaging fingers feel wonderful.
I've never had any trouble with the Foot Log rolling away from me. These reports from a couple other reviewers really surprise me--I can't quite imagine how it could happen. The flooring beneath my desk where I use my Foot Log isn't even carpeting; it's a rather slick vinyl laminate--but even so I've had no trouble keeping the Foot Log in place under my feet. (Note: I do suspect that the device would easily roll away from you if you attempt to use it with only one foot. Could that be the reason some reviewers have had this problem? You do have to put both of your feet on the Foot Log.)
I'm really enjoying trying out the exercises intended for use with the Foot Log as described in the substantial "Foot Pain Manual" that is included in the package. The booklet, written by the inventor of the Foot Log, Dr. Rehm, not only tells you all about the Foot Log and how to use it, it also contains loads of information on foot care and pain management in general. (My favorite exercise: while rolling the Foot Log away from you, point your toes; while rolling it back toward you, flex your toes. This simple exercise definitely helps ease my PF pain.)
I notice that after I've used the Foot Log for about 15 minutes, the bottoms of my feet turn a healthy, rosy color, which suggests to me that the Foot Log's massaging action really gets the blood flowing to the injured areas. And that can only be a good thing!
I love the Foot Log. If you decide to purchase it, I hope you'll love too. Whatever you do, don't skip reading the booklet. The Foot Log may appear self-explanatory, but there's more to it than meets the eye. Pros: feels great/includes helpful booklet w/exercises Cons: none |

| Excellent, easy to use tool to treat and then help prevent recurrent plantar fasciitis |

I am more or less recovered from a 7 year siege of plantar fasciitis. Of perhaps 15 different therapies and devices I have tried (including ESWT, but not surgery), the Foot Log seems to have been by far the most effective. When, on occasion, the plantar area starts to tighten up, a few minutes on the Log relieves it. I use it almost every day for maintenance and expect to do so for the rest of my life. The sensation is very pleasant (I sometimes refer to it as my foot dildo), although you do need to start using it very gently and add a minute or two a day. I have tried several similar devices, as well as various household objects that are often recommended, and there is no comparison.
I also recommend very highly Maseur sandals and innersoles (hundreds of medium-hard rubber knobs), which I use almost all the time I'm on my feet. They give a continuous mild stimulation, like Foot Log Very Lite, which seems to contribute greatly to my foot health. Again, I have found these far superior to several similar products I have tried.
Good luck to all. Pros: EFFECTIVENESS, COST Cons: NONE |

This is a terrific product. I use the Foot Log now while watching TV, or working on the computer. At first I needed to use it constantly, my PF was that bad, but now I use it to prevent recurrences of the pain associated with PF.
I'd recommend this product to anyone with foot pain associated with PF. And I'm certain it would help tired feet that haven't been stimulated in a while as well. The energized feel after using the Foot Log is well worth the small amount of time using it. Pros: Easy to use - portable - sturdy Cons: can't put it in my shoes |

| It feels good and seems to help, but, because it's straight my feet keep working their way off it. As a result, after a couple of minutes it's just too much trouble. |

| Good for general fascial tone throughout the arch of the foot, and helps sooth and relax the muscles in the foot - which contributes to the easing of tension in the heel. But you'll still need to give deep tissue massage occasionally using something else. |

| I have really enjoyed having this critter under my workstation at home. As a runner, it sure feels nice to massage abused feet when they're stiff or aching. |

| Helpful when sitting on edge of bed to get feet loosened up before standing. Flat design isn't as good as the ones with the curve for arch, so I wouldn't stand and use it, but the fingers are good. |

| I don't find it helps a great deal. I found my foot slipped off of it too easily. It was just to much to deal with for the slight gain I felt I was getting. |

I love the Foot Log. I use it every night while I am sitting at my computer. It is so relaxful for my foot and feels like it stretches the plantar fascia out. I also use it on my other foot that does not have plantar fasciatis.
I did have one problem when I began using it...a 65 lb. golden retreiver who naturally thought it was a new chew toy. |

| I have found this item to be very helpful with my foot pain. It does have a tendency to go out from under your foot but it is worth the effort to use it. It has helped relieve most of my foot pain and I am able to walk most of the day without a cane. The best thing I've bought in long time. |

| If you can't find someone to give you a foot massage, this is a good sub. The foot is probably the body part the least "emphasized" in distance runners' training, yet the foot is a great source of power if it is strong, suple and agile. The foot log is one activity for the foot proper, that if you can remember to use it regularly (which I can't seem to do-- I wait until my foot/plantar fascia hurts to use the log again), can help the foot be more pliable -- greater pliability leads to greater use and eventually foot strength -- that's my theory, any way. |
