Birkenstocks and Birkenstock inserts

Posted by jill on 3/07/98 at 11:22 (000327)

I've been struggling with PF for a year. I just got my first pair of birks after reading this website. I am amazed that my constant foot pain almost immediately went away. They feel like boats and I can only walk slowly and go for a very short walk plus my calves are really sore. Any comments? Do the birkenstock inserts in tennis shoes allow you to walk more and faster?

Let's face it: The orthopedic value of Birkenstock sandals, while dubious at best, is really beside the point. The things are simply so ugly that there is no medical condition to justify wearing them. The vast majority of Birkenstock wearers are perfectly healthy, and are simply going after 'happy feet' in a selfish way, indifferent to the unpleasant sight they foist on the rest of us.
