I'm wondering about glucosamine supplements & calcium/magnesium. . . and I second that psychological aging factor.Posted by Sherri on 5/25/98 at 20:54 (000635)
I have heared a lot in these posts about glucosamine supplements & calcium/magnesium. Can someone please give a brief bit about what aspects these treat? Im going to go back to the doc this week, and would like to be aware of potential help.
I feel for you who are '50 and walk like 90', and wonder where I will be when I turn 50! I won't be 28 until September and I'm crawling around because of this Plantar in BOTH feet. This is highly annoying, and really sets back your work out programs! Coupled with my carpal tunnel in both hands, I get pretty darned bummed.

Glucosamine stimulates the manufacture of collagen. It helps the body repair damaged cartilage and improves joint function. Chondroitin protects cartlage by inhibiting enzymes that destroy it. Our bodies already produce these in very small quantities. They are now being used to treat arthritis. There are no known side effects.
