Posted by randall beltran on 7/04/98 at 09:53 (000917)

I underwent a pf release in jul 97,there is no pain in my heel but there is pain in my forefoot left side, I think it could be lateral column pain in my foot, I do not know how to get rid of it. I'am wearing othotics but pain does not go away. I'am also running about 4 to 5 times a week because I'am in the us army ,somebody please help.

I don't know if this is relevant to your situation, but I have been
diagnosed with metatarsalgia, an inflammation of the metatarsal joints in the forefoot. I usually have some pain, but I can reduce it by
using a Dr. Scholl's gel pad under the forefoot. I use the gel pad in Birkenstock Arizonas for relaxing. Maybe you could try some kind of
padding in your shoe to see if it helps.

Have you told your doctor about this new pain? It might be worth it.

Good luck.
