Re: try everything before surgery

Janet, I would encourage you to try every option you can think of to treat your pain before having ANY kind of surgery. I had the endoscopic surgery on both feet after 12 years of chronic pain and it has not improved my condition one bit. I believed the doc when he said '4-6 weeks recovery time' but it's been 8 months and my pain is often worse now than it was before. Consider PT, acupuncture, exercises, taping, meds, orthotics/comfort shoes and get all the info you can from this site. It's overwhelming at times, because no one thing works for everyone, but the odds that surgery will be the answer look pretty low to me.

I agree with Lisa, try everything you can before you let them do surgery. I have had surgery and I am worse off than before, I can work, walk or play with the kids if it means to much being on my feet.

What did you have surgery for? My husband has a crushed heel and I'm looking for people that have had surgery for that. Please write.
