I have gone to the Birenstock web site and they have many different styles of inserts.
Which are your favorites and which style of shoes will they go into. What size inserts
do you order. I wear Birkenstock Arizona sandals much larged than my actual size
because the toe curve hits the ends of my other toes. If you have this problem you will
know exactly what I mean. The rest of you can go be foot models but not me with a
long second and third toe (how do you count which toe is which anyway) Thanks Barb
J

I found that little thing around the toes on the Arizona sandal to be very uncomfortable
because it hit me in the wrong place.

The man who sold me my shoes also makes orthotics and is handy. He took the bumps
out for me. Unfortunately, I still don't find the Birks comfortable, but maybe you would
if your had the bumps taken out--probably a shoe maker could do that for you.

Actually I am asking which specific Birkenstock shoe insole type insert people are
referring to that make their other brands of shoes tolerable to wear. Thanks for your
message I will try to write more clearly from now on and not try to be clever. Barb

I've had great luck with the blue footbed arch support. I got a pair a few weeks ago and
have almost no pain when I wear them. I went on vacation with a friend and walked all
over the place without a problem. Before I got the birk arch supports I couldn't walk
down the street without my heel pain being aggravated for days afterward. I have also
tried Spenco and Dr. Scholl's, as well as custom orthotics, but none has worked as well.
They're meant for casual shoes, I haven't tried them in a dress shoe. Hope you have as
good of luck with them as I have! They're $45 a pair, a bargain compared with buying a
whole new shoe wardrobe!

I'm not sure if the inserts are color coded, but I also wear the blue insert. They have
three styles--one for athletic shoes, one for casual shoes, and one for dress (I think it is
recommended for a 1-inch heel).

I've been very pleased with the results. As the previous note says I too can walk all day
without foot pain. I think it is nothing short of a miracle that I forget I have a heel
problem!

By the way, I wear my inserts in flat or 1/2 inch heels. Because of my work/lifestyle I
don't wear heels. Maybe for the annual Christmas party I'll try out another style.

They're the Birkenstock blue ones. I bought them at a store that specializes in
Birkenstocks. I found them to be more knowledgeable than stores where they carry a
variety of shoes that include Birks.

Are the Birkenstock inserts as hard as the Birkenstock shoes? I went to a store to try them and they recommended against them for me because I am so intolerant of anything hard and firm right now.
