Stairs have been working for me.

Posted by BillC. on 1/10/99 at 00:00 (003207)

Hello Sandy,

I am an avid walker and hiker. I developed PF doing a 100 mile hike back in Sept. 98. I found that if I walk 3/4 mile, I have quite a bit of pain but if I climb stairs my heel pain is slight. I am walking 24 fights of stairs, 3 times a day. I feel like this might strengthen my feet and leg muscles and build some endurence. Maybe because you use mostly the ball of you feet when climbing stairs. I know it sounds a little crazy but I felt that I needed to do some excersize and I seem to be able to tolerate it. Before I was race walking 3 miles a day during lunch and walking 4 miles in the evening.
