Not everyone likes BirkenstocksPosted by Sue B. on 1/17/99 at 00:00 (003550)
I know a lot of people have had a lot of relief from Birkenstocks--they are certainly worth trying to see if they help.
However, I find them very painful on my arches. I suspect that is because I have some problem going on in my arches--tendonitis? nerve involvement? I don't know--am still trying to get a diagnosis.

I have been wearing birdenstocks for years and love them. A podiatrist introduced me to them and they have helped my pf. Although
when you buy them if they fail to tell you not to wear them for an hour or two at a time, they will kill you feet and legs(I had a bad aching in both). They mold to the shape of your foot so they need time to get use to each other. I just purchased the orthodics by
birkenstock and they help some, but have to do the same with them.

Sue Mc--When you said not to wear Birks for an hour or two at a time, what did you mean?
Did you mean to break them in gradually? Like a half an hour for the first few days and then build up?
I know lots of people wear them all the time--when I see people wearing them I cringe inside--I imagine the pain I would be feeling if I had them on!
