new with spursPosted by Mary on 1/20/99 at 00:00 (003664)
Hi I just got back from the doctor. He has been saying its just imflamation. He did an x-ray and there was a spur. He wanted to give me a shot but I said no.I am also 17weeks pregnant, so i guess it will get worse. I have read to much on this board about the shot. I go to a specialist on monday. I want another option other than the shot.If there are any. I have learned alot from this board. Mary in texas

Dear Mary--good for you for saying no to the shot, especially since you are pregnant. During any pregnancy its best to say no to anything going into your body unless recommended by your ob/gyn. There are lots of options for you. You might go over the survey Scott has in the front of this board to find out what worked best for most people and then give them a try. Also, you may want to find another doctor, one willing to recommend physical therapy or orthotics, etc. Best of luck. Barbara PS Congratulations on being pregnant!

Also came from the doctor today. Been having a lot of pain in both heel for quite sometime, so decided to go to a Poditras. X-rays where taking and heel spurs where found. I go back Friday for a casting for orthodics, but was given a cortosone shot today in the right heel where most of my pain is at.
This is all new to me, so any information you could provide let me know.

Read the site. Lots of info here, be wary of cortisone.
