Numbness in heel--post surgeryPosted by Milton Bradford on 1/22/99 at 00:00 (003721)
I thank you all for your responses yesterday. I failed to add this information and solicit your responses. Before my Pf surgery I have had to live a sedentary lifestyle and it has cause me to gain 35 pounds in the last year. I have tried to eat low-fat but you can't replace running 6 miles every other day with just a change in eating habits. I guess it is part genetics -- my family is large.
Today my foot is feeling better and it continues to improve. I have found that some soreness leaves--as I ice it up, it is just so darn slow in healing. However, since this surgery and it has been 7 weeks now. I have a numbness in my heel. Has anyone experienced this continued numbness and does anyone know what it means?

I had the same problem after my surgery, but my numbness was on the left side of my foot. It will go away after a while - probably two months.

Is it kind of hard too? Maybe it is scar tissue. After my surgery I was told to massage the scar tissue. I did and it made a difference.
