NEW TO BOARD, QUESTIONSPosted by Suz on 2/12/99 at 00:00 (004743)
Hi. I have found reading the posts helpful. Thanks to all who share.
I have had heel pain for about 7 mos. At first it was bilateral. My right foot healed on its own and so for the longest time I just figured my left foot would stop hurting too. Didn't reaize I had PF.
DO MOST PEOPLE HAVE PF IN BOTH FEET OR JUST ONE?
Finally sought treatment and got one injection into my left heel. It really was not too bad. The doctor was very gentle and kind. I had total relief for a week, and then the pain began to return. I wish I had read these posts before I went to the Ortho. I do not think I will get another injection, not after reading that there are side effects.
WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS OF CORTISONE INJECTIONS?
Thanks for any input.

I have had four shots in the right foot. The first one helped for several months, the second helped for a couple of months, the third and fourth did absolutely nothing. My right foot is by far the worse one but my left foot is beginning to go out in sympathy. The pain seems to spread to my ankle as well. This may be due to the way I limp around. I will not have any more shots but I have tried almost everything there is to try except surgery. I wish you luck and please keep in touch.
