What about using ice water???

Posted by Rosalind on 2/28/99 at 00:00 (005134)

Does anyone know if it is OK to use ice water? I tried filling a plastic dishpan with ice and water so I could soak all of both feet at once. It sure hurt, but I wondered if I was gaining from my pain. Now I'm back to using straight ice because I wasn't sure.

I use ice water all the time. I fill up a big tub with cool water and empty a tray of ice cubes in it. This way you can do both feet at once. I usually soak them while watching t.v. for about 20-30 minutes. The first plunge is shocking but you get used to it.

I don't think ice water would work if you have sensitive skin.
