To Jack: I'll Keep My Fingers Crossed!

Posted by Leon on 5/11/99 at 00:00 (006744)

Thanks for helping me to be realistic; I am trying to be as careful as possible and ease back in (i.e., first used an elliptical trainer at a fitness center, always walk a couple of laps and stretch before and after running, been running on a track so that it won't be as hard as asphalt, etc.) but I do recognize that the p.f. may return. My question is: what did you do when it returned? Are you running again now? Since I'm getting older (47), I've been hearing comments like: maybe it's time to change to biking, I USED to be able to run but had to stop, you might only be able to run a couple of times a week, etc. but I'm really hoping I can get back into running the way I was before the p.f. (30-35 miles a week, and increasing it up to 60-70 for 3 months or so before a marathon). Anyway, I'll let you know how it goes. Leon
