Clarification for Dana

I'm taking 1000 mg of vit c with each meal (3) and another 500 mg tablet between breakfast and lunch and again between lunch and dinner. Sometimes I forget the in-between doses, so it ends up being at least 3000 mg and most of the time I hit 4000 mg. Is not hurting my stomach at this point and have been taking for about 6-8 weeks regularly.
