Steel Toes: look in B.A. Mason's catalogPosted by Maura on 6/07/99 at 00:00 (007659)
Wanda, I haven't tried any of these steel toed shoes myself, but recently received the 95th Anniversary Edition catalog from B.A. Mason's, which seems to specialize in comfortable shoes, walking shoes, and various work shoes, including many many steel-toed shoes and many U.S. Postal Service-approved shoes. (I was especially impressed by the steel-toed 'dress' shoes for men -- they looked like modified wing tips, but were steel toed.) Pages 32-36 of this Spring/Summer 1999 catalog have quite a few varieties of steel-toed boots and shoes. Perhaps one of these would work with orthotics, or be supportive on its own? Good luck! There is no web site listed, but the toll free number is 1-800-442-1000 (open 6 a.m. to midnight, central time), or B.A. Mason, 1251 First Ave., Chippewa Falls, WI 54729.
