Results of MRI

Posted by Bea on 6/30/99 at 00:00 (008375)

I had an MRI on my foot & the following are the results. There is thickening of the Achilles tendon, extending from its muscular tendinous junction to its insertionon the calcaneus. There is a large plantar calcaneal spur. Heteroganeous signal is present within the substance of the Achilles tendon, compatible with interstitial fibrosis & mucold degeneration. There is a high sognal linear intensith seen extending From 1 cm in length at the insertional interface with the calcaneus. The findings are compatible with acute tear in this location. In addition focal hyplintense lesions are seen in the region of the insertion representingtiny bony fragment and/or calcification. A large retrocalcaneal bursa is noted.
Sorry this was so long but I am looking for any kind of comment. My doctor has prescribed p.t. as a start along with non-steroidal anti inflammatories.
