You mentioned limping, everytime I would limp because of my heel spur, another part of my leg usually calf or hip would hurt. I am a hairstylist and developed sciatica problems from shifting my weight to my non-spur foot while I was standing for long periods of time. If you are not exercising at all then your muscles are problably so sensitive to any irregular movement, like limping ! My foot is about 90% better, still desperate to get rid of all pain. I would really like to kill this demon once and for all. Good luck to you.
