I started my low-carb diet as a way to lose weight(so far 35 pounds have very painlessly departed). The foot pain relief was just a very pleasant side effect that several of us have noticed. I wasn't looking for it, it just happened.

You just wait, your trainer will have you cut out the sugar next, and if you follow his instructions to the letter (which it kind of doesn't sound like you are doing) you will basicly be doing what Gordon and I are doing---just not quite as stringent. I guess if it makes you feel better to pay someone tons of money for the advise that Gordon and I have given you for free---go for it!
