GLOCOSAMINE..HAS IT HELPED ANYONE?

Posted by Nancy T. on 8/24/99 at 00:00 (010151)

I am wondering if anyone has had any success with glocosamine either alone or combined? I have seen it mentioned many times on the board, but have not seen any pros or cons. Anyone?

I started taking it last December. Noticed some improvement but that seems to plateau after awhile. I am still takng it but mostly that is to run through my supply. I don't think I will continue for too much longer. See my post below on bromelain. Pancreatin also looks like another possibility.

I have been currently taking Glucosamine Sulfate at 1500MG. per day.
I have been taking it for about 5 weeks now and have not noticed any change. I have had PF*5years but have developed chondromalacia (cartilage problem in knee)which developed from my changed gait from PF. I mainly took Glucosamine for my knee because I also heard it is used for cartilage repair; however, I have monitored both since taking it and have not noticed any change yet. In fact my knee is worse. I have heard that it takes 7 weeks or longer so I will keep taking it until I run out.
