Hi there. Very interesting, isn't it! Your trainer was talking about a condition called azutoria, also known as 'tying up' where horse's muscles get so much lactic acid, they just freeze up in one giant cramp. Very nasty. Often related to high carbo food, lack of exercise, then over exertion. I think this digestion/foot pain cycle in humans calls for more exploration!! -Raleigh
