Stretching: best stretches yet

My yoga techer recommended these two to me, and I believe that it is healing up my feet.
1. Take a rolled blanket (3-4 inch diameter) or towel on the ground (on something soft, like carpet). Put as much of the arch and ball of your foot as you can on the roll, leaving your heels on the ground. Bend over fromthe tops of your hips, and just hang out there for 3-4 minutes. Lift your toes up while you are bent over.
2. Practice lifting the big toes up with your little toes down. Reverse and lift your little toes up and leave your big toes down. Continue doing this 8-10 times. I do this repatedly throughout the day.
Doing these two exercises has substantially healed up my feet in the past two months. Hope it helps you!

When you say 'Bend over from the tops of your hips... ,' do you mean to bend at your waist? I tried this last night, but I bent over like I would to touch my toes which is bending from the hips. Then I tried bending from the waist; I found that to be more comfortable than bending from the hips. Please clarify. Thank you.

Do you do this exercise from a sittin or standing position?

From the hips, not the waist. The idea is to stretch out the muscles in the backs of the legs. I hpoe this helps!

Sorry- the stretches are done from a standing position. I do them forst thing in the morning, when I am the most stiff. I hope this helps!
