Running After P.F.Posted by Leon L. on 11/08/99 at 00:00 (012432)
Deciding that you need to stop running completely for awhile is a great first step. I've run for over 27 years and developed p.f. last Dec. while training for a marathon. I stopped running from early Jan. through about May or so, but kept in shape at a health club through pool running, biking, and an elliptical machine. I also got custom orthotics, went to a physical therapist, and started doing a lot more stretching. It is now about 11 months since I first started experiencing the symptoms of p.f., and I am back to running about 35 miles a week with no pain. So hang in there; if you're patient hopefully you will run again!
