Review - Orthoheel

Posted by ZebeeJ on 12/17/99 at 00:00 (013860)

I've been using Orthoheel products for a year or so now. The inserts
are mostly about arch support rather than heel cushioning and
do a good job. I've got wide flat feet, and the supports have
made a huge difference in the heel pain. Quite by accident I found
a pair of their sandals and I'm extremely impressed. They are very
supportive and far softer and more comfortable than I expected from
looking at them. One strap across the foot, a very sculptured rubber
sole, and those little rubber bumps like 'massage sandals'. They
support the foot well and are fairly soft to walk on.

There are not many things available in Australia, but these
are. And relatively cheap, I paid A$30 for the inserts and
A$30 for the sandals. I was hit for A$60 for a cushioning heel
support which was nowhere near as good.

The Orthoheel stands up pretty well, I wore the first set day
in day out for a year, and thought I had better replace them. THere
was no difference in feel between old and new so I just put the old
ones in a spare set of shoes so I didn't have to swap so often.

Ack! just looked at the sandal, and it's OrthAheel not
OrthOheel.

No wonder I couldn't find a review here :)
