A Christmas Wish for You

Posted by Mimi-e, on 12/21/99 at 00:00 (014006)

Hi to all. I met my 'Waterloo' nine months ago while doing some
outside painting from an aluminum ladder, the one with
the round rungs. I am on the mend thanks to all the
information that I have received from this site. The
following poem is just my humble way of saying thanks.

A Christmas Wish for You

Courageous friends that travel in the
kingdom of pain on hindered soles

Noble ones with tears and furrowed brows,
searching, compassionate and hopeful

I wish you information, medical breakthroughs,
comfort and carefree mornings

Love, laughter, long walks on
pristine white beaches

Toasty fires, dancing snowflakes,
Christmas carollers at your door

Steps of angels, wings from heaven
spirits undaunted, unbroken

Bravo to a humanitarian, a keeper of the flame,
a leader in the fight

I wish you all, my fellow enduring hearts,
health, happiness and a grande and painless future

God Bless and Merry Christmas

That's a moving poem. You're very talented! I only wish you had somehow managed to work in the phrase 'kindred souls' to rhyme with 'hindered soles' :-)

Thanks Mimi, that was really nice. I wish you and all a very Happy (and hopefully pain free) holiday season.

On a more comical note I tried to come up with a few of my own lyrics...

'all I want for christmas is two new feet, two new feet, two new feet, all I want for christmas is two new feet, so I can survive the holiday season'

'On the first day of christmas my Dr. gave to me...a cortizone shot that really hurt me,
On the second day of christmas my Dr. gave to me...2 Birkenstocks,
On the third day of christmas my Dr. gave...3 foot massages,'

You guys can finish the rest... HAPPY HOLIDAYS.

I have been away from a computer a couple of days. I was delighted
to see the positive responses from familiar names. To Lee H, I could
definitely use some birkenstocks myself and to John A, like the
phrase 'kindred souls' also.
