Laurie - what happened at the doctor today?

Well...I don't exactly know why I was given the option of a steriod
shot in the hip. I was such a chicken about the shot in the heels. He
said it would make it's way down and do the same thing and wouldn't be
as painful. He said on a scale of 1-10 he rated it a 4 as far as pain
goes. I found it to be stinging as all shots go but it was bearable.
It wasn't as painful and didn't last as long as the shot in the heel.
Thought that would never be over. As strange as this sounds...it's been 6 hrs since the shot and my heels aren't hurting as bad as they
usually do. Hope this lasts at least through tomorrow. Feet feel so
good right now ...I even went to the ballpark to watch my nine yr.
old do try-outs for softball. Even stayed the whole time...while chasing the other 3 children.Very big for me.!! I would usually opt
to just stay at home. Well, next appt is Thursday...back to the ortho-
surgeon. Curious as to what he says about the x-rays. Thanks to every-
one for making me feel better about the heel-spurs I saw. Yes!! I did
peek!! The tech. didn't mind...she showed me willingly. I'm interested
in this casting. I wonder why it has never been mentioned to me. Think
I'll pass up the surgery for a little while longer. I went back and re-read Scott's Journal and the PF book ...I've read so much I think
I was getting a little confused. The casting makes sense to me. Anyhow...thanks to everyone concerned.I absolutely love this site.
I don't know any of you...but I feel as if I have alot of friends out
there that understand where I'm coming from and are concerned with what the doctors have to say. It definetly makes me feel better. Especially...if I've had a bad foot day. I know I can post and some-
one will answer ...with positive results. Thanks ...Stephanie
