3 weeks post-op update and a little humor

Posted by DannyT on 3/28/00 at 00:00 (017931)

Saw my doctor yesterday. He said that my recovery from surgery is right about where it should be. Started walking some after I got the staples out last Monday. Experienced 'morning pain' by Wednesday but he said that this was not unusual and should abate as the healing progresses. Tried to get back into my workboots this week (Redwings), but gave up at lunchtime today and put the sandals back on. I'm using ice and massage at night and taking Bromelain and Vitamin C. I do want to thank everyone for the advice that I found available here. It has made a HUGE difference.

Now on the lighter side of things, ('If we couldn't laugh we would all go insane' - Jimmy Buffet):

I ran into a top ten list on John Boy and Billy's web site (www.thebigshow.com) today that I want to share here. It does fit into a recent string of discussion. So, with no further ado:

The Top 10 Signs You've Got The Wrong Doctor

10. Directions To His Office Include The Phrase, 'Turn Off The Paved Road.'

9. Magazines In The Waiting Room: 'Juggs,' 'Cracked,' And 'Soldier Of Fortune.'

8. Medical Diploma On The Wall Appears To Be The Warranty From A Craftsman Cordless Screwdriver

7. Number 5 On The Patient Questionnaire: 'Are You The Type Who's Likely To Press Charges?'

6. He's Wearing A Pair Of Pants You Gave To Goodwill Last Month.

5. All The Tongue Depressors Have A Faint Taste Of Fudgesicle.

4. You Don't Seem To Remember Viagra Coming In Different Colors With Little M's On Them.

3. Your 'Stress Test' Consists Of An Appearance With Your Relatives On 'The Jerry Springer Show.'

2. Giggles Uncontrollably Whenever He Hears The Word 'Rectum'

And The Number 1 Sign You've Got The Wrong Doctor...

His Answer To Dubious Test Results: 'Oh Well...Let's All Do A Shot.

Good jokes!

Hang in there, and get better soon. I am not at that point with the PF, and I am trying to avoid being at that point. I am seeing a chiropractor and will start PT in 2 days.

Much luck to you,

Pookie
