i have a friend who is a board certified addicted runner. he is in the Arakansas Runner's Hall of Fame, he regularly competes in the NYC,Boston,Chicago, Pikes Peak marathons and runs. If he does not win his age group (67) he will certainly place very high. He runs by my house every day on some 10-15 mile run. The question i have is this guy is as tight as a drum. He is without fat but is so tight he cannot lift his leg straight out with his foot only 2 or so feet off the ground. he would truly qualify as a banjo string. how is it a guy so tight can compete amd not pull a muscle every time he runs? he seems to be counter to all principles of stretching and running i have ever read about.
