Dear Pat,
Nancy is right, you won't hear anyone in here telling you to quit whining. Venting makes you feel a little better...As far as your old PCP not being generous with referrals, I posted way back that each HMO dr is given a certain cash allotment; if they have to refer you out to a specialist, IT COST THEM. I know this for a fact, after having had many discussions about it with my PCP. Thank God for her, she didn't care as much about her money as she did helping me get better. There are still Doctors out there who want to help people heal and she was one of them. Go to your new PCP and ask for a referral if you think it shouldn't wait or if you are uncomfortable enough that waiting isn't an option. Feel better..........Elise

My internal dr. had me take 3 ibuprofen 3 times a day when my symtoms started. This did make me feel alot better. After a couple of weeks he suggested a prescription anti-inflammitory. I took a few that irritated my stomach and finally ended up on Voltaren. I works great, I've taken it for a few years. Is easy to gain weight taking these. Be careful. Maybe take the Ibuprofen while your waiting for appt. The cheap generic kind will work.
