Has anyone tried these products?

Posted by Barbara on 7/27/00 at 12:36 (024100)

I found some products in my RoadRunnerSports catalog. Has anyone tried them or similar products? By the way, they also sell night splints and stretching devices.

I hope these links work.

I hate these URL addresses. The third link should work now.

Barbara,

No, I have not tried them but they are interesting and kind of expensive. I have looked at them many times in their catalog, but never purchased.

1. Achilles Brace.

It might work in the same way that wrapping shins and IT bands reduce pain and minimize stess/strain on those injured tissues ?

2. Arch Suppport #1.

Kind of a partial orthotic (lacking heel and forefoot posting). Real interesting because it could be worn while swimming, in that it could avoid the stress of walking 100% barefoot to/from the water?

3. Arch Suppport #2.

Another kind of a partial orthotic (lacking heel and forefoot posting).

Rock.

This product has been referenced before. I use a Futuro ankle support, which is an elesticized band which supports the arch and ankle. I would think the Futuro would be more comfortable than velcro straps. I love my Futuro, and could not do without it before my surgery. I only wear it now during strenuous activities. You can find it at many drugstores (I buy mine at CVS on sale for under $5.00. Hope this helps.
