METATARSALGIA

Posted by Denise St.George on 8/06/00 at 08:07 (024748)

Does anyone know if OssaTron is useful in treating Metatarsalgia (sp?) I have gone from having bunions to crippling pain in the balls of my feet which make walking very difficult. I have tried orthotics and been put on anti-inflammatories by an orthopedic surgeon., but there has to be an easier way to (cure?) this ailment.
Information would be geatly appreciated.

Denise - I had serious bunion pain for 4 years. My custom orthotics did help some, at least for a while. I had surgery in May, really needed it a long time ago but needed to wait for kids to get a little bigger. I really don't see how ESWT could help a bunion, but you might want to consider surgery. It was an EXTREMELY painful recuperation, it is still a little swollen, but the worst is behind me. Terry
