last visit with pod.

Posted by Kathy on 8/15/00 at 17:09 (025507)

Tomarrow should be my last visit with my pod. since he said he is going to discharge me if I didn't commit to surgery this time, and I'm not going under the knife. I hope to get a script for the pedorthist for my new orthodics but if he won't give me one my family doctor will, also my family doc. mentioned sending me to a sports medicine doc. at Michigan State Univertsity if I wanted to go, what do you think about a sports doc.? Still want to go to Chicago to Dr. Weil but need to come up with about $3000.00 this pf is not a cheap problem to have. One last question, If I remember right the orbsone isn't FDA approved for pf right? my insurance might pay if it is but I think I'm up a creek on this one.

The orbasone is cleared by the FDA for chronic pain management. The understanding is that the distributor can't market to the public or the doctors on what conditions to use the machine. I treat heel spur pain and plantar fasciitis pain and other tendonitis pain of the foot and ankle. I never treat any condition that isn't painful. Who would ???? Another example would be the ossatron it can't be marketed for elbow pain and or shoulder pain. The doctor still can use it to treat pain in those areas.

Kathy, I haven't had much medical care for my feet since this all started in May 1999. Docs I saw included PCP, a podiatrist (a useless one) for several months, and an osteopath. Oh yeah, and a walk-in clinic doc.
Now I'm seeing a sports med. specialist doc, by far the best of the bunch. He knows this stuff inside and out, and happens to treat patients like human beings (like Dr. Z here). This one's a real find, and I'm sure I'll be sticking with him.

And I have done that, haven't I, John. If I hadn't found the board in December, probably by now I would've chopped 'em off, or offered myself to Hollywood so they could do it in a movie and pay me a few million bucks.
Say, think they'd go for it? Naw, not in the age of 'special effects.'
