Its comming----Polymerized Aspirin could treat Inflammation locally

My recent reading produced the following:
A new form of aspirin may soon make it possible to treat postsurgical pain and inflammation directly at its source. A Rutgers University
Chemist has found a way to link salicylic acid to form long polymer chains. It's uniqueness is because from it they can make fibers which
then can be applied to various parts of the body to treat inflammation at its source instead of systemically.

If this stuff works, I bet the pharmaceutical companies that spent billions on COX-2 inhibitors(drugs that inhibit cyclo-oxygenase 2, the enzyme needed to make inflammatory protoglandins) will get a little, ah, inflammed. Aspirin the drug that never stops giving.
