First Book out on Shockwave Therapy

Posted by Dr. Zuckerman on 9/17/00 at 06:20 (028445)

I just ordered a book published on ESWT for the entire body. This came out in April 2000. I found it on the International Society for ESWT. I am getting the book this week. I will give a book report and make available any information that will be helpful to both doctors and patients. I am looking mostly for improved techniques. long term results, anythng that I can learn. There is alot of information on plantar fasciitis. If you want to look at the table of context go to the International Society for Musculoskeletal- Shockwave Therapy. Here is the link. http://www.ismst.com./ . Its under the news follow it to the link for ordering the book . Sooner or later you will find a picture of the book and the list of chapters in the book.

got to read a lot of the key parts of the book while i was having treatment. some things it said: chronic cases seem to do better with ESWT than non chronic. results can continue to improve for up to 12 weeks after treatment. there is an 'accumulative' effect for the treatments. finding the right spot to treat is paramount and patient participation is important. the spot treated is about the size of an eraser head although dr z will treat one spot for about 1500 shocks and then another spot for about 1500 shocks.
