plantar and dorsiflexing

Posted by Matt N on 10/06/00 at 12:58 (029936)

Hi, I am a high school student in Las Vegas, NV. As part of our Anatamy and Physiology class we were asked to work on a case study. Ours is dealing with an injury to the foot/ankle region. We were wondering if you could help us out by explaining what plantar and dorsil flexing are.

This is motion in the Sagital Plane usually the ankle or the first big toe joint. Dorsiflexion is moving the foot up and Plantarflexion is moving the foot down. You can find this information and possible picture in any anatomy book
