ESWT

Posted by D. Steven Ostendorf, DPM on 10/10/00 at 08:16 (030155)

Since March 2000, we have done 67 ESWT's, with 15 done on the posterior aspect of the heel & remainder on the plantar. Results: posterior heel(AICT) all 15 95 - 100% relief, including one who had associated post herpetic neuralgia of the heel which was completely resolved in 3 days. Inferior heels (plantar fasciitis / heel spur):
50 - 95-100% resolved after 1 treatment
10 - 95-100% resolved after 2 treatments
1 - 98% resolved after 3 treatments
5 - pending evaluation following treatment in last 2 weeks
2 - no relief; one 100% following percutaneous plantar fasciectomy.
So far, results indicate this should be treatment of choice if previous conservative measures have failed.

what was the time frame between 1st treatment and 2nd treatment for PF. what has been your experience as to when your patients beging to show improvement after an orbasone treatment and at what point do you think they will have achieved max results after a treatment?

thanks

Dr.,
Wonderful to hear that there's another Dr. out there having the same great results as we are at Dr. Zuckerman's office. While we have done quite a few more treatments than your office, our results are running about the same. And the end result has been alot of very happy patients.

Best wishes for your continued success with ESWT!
