planters fasciitis tape remedy

Posted by Fred on 10/18/00 at 10:42 (030766)

About 4 years ago my orthopedic foot doctor showed me a taping procedure that was very effective at relieving my planters fasciitis pain. Within the last month, the pain has finally returned; however, my memory on how to do the taping procedure has not.
I believe it had something to do with running a strip of tape on either side of the foot, followed by about 3 to 4 strips on the bottom (perpendicular to the arch). Then, I think, a long strip was used which started at the top of the small toe, running diagonally under the foot, back up around the arch, then ending around the achilles. Does this sound accurate? I tried it this morning, but am not sure I got it right.
Thanks, Fred

My former doctor's office just faxed me the diagram on how to do this - I was close.
Thanks, Fred
