Superfeet inserts

Posted by LynMaire on 10/28/00 at 15:01 (031527)

The P.E. teacher at my school also has PF and her doctor gave her Superfeet brand inserts, which she says are the best of the many she's tried.

They have a website: http://www.superfeet.com . She has the Synergizer model (green). Has anyone here used these? They also offer custom inserts (My local Peter Glen ski shop is listed as a dealer that has this service)for ski and hiking boots.

If I get my feet moving this weekend, I MAY try to go to the store and check out their inserts so I can get a better idea of sizing. They have a box on the website where you input heel size and arch height - I'm not sure of mine.

Anyhow, if any of you have used Superfeet's please post feedback.

I wore these for awhile. They gave good heel support, but after a few weeks, I stopped wearing them because the arch just hit me in the wrong place or perhaps it was too much arch. I know they are popular and certainly worth a try. There is a new Superfeet out that is softer.
It is called 'Comfort.' It too had too much arch for me, but with otc you just have to keep trying. I have yet to find anything that works well. So far, the green arch support Spenco has been the only thing I've been able to 'live with.'

Good Luck,
Beverly

Hi LynMaire,

I checked out the site, and it looks like a good line to me, especially if properly fitted. I recommend you get them at one of the locations that is a 'fit center'. Thanks for the post, there is one right around the corner from here, I'll check em out when I get a chance.

Beverly, that is my complaint with custom orthotics, our feet CHANGE as we go along. You might try getting refitted to see if a different kind/size would work better for you now. Good luck.

I have a pair that I purchased from my online runnng store. They were highly recommended by their running specialists. They are OK but I agree with Beverly, the arch is in slightly the wrong place for my foot. That is kind of a bummer when you have spent about $30. They are still useful I have them in some shoes that I use only occasionally. They are a lot better than the liners that come in most shoes. I am still searching around for the best orthotics. To date, my favorite is the Sorbothane Ultra Graphite Arch. It has lots of cushion and the arch support is kind of flexible...not too stiff.

and where did you find the Sorbothane supports?

Just For Feet carries them.

Sorry to be so slow!! Been busy busy! I bought mine at an athletic store that does a lot of online business too. Holabird sports. They really specialize in racquet sports but had a bunch of different inserts (orthotics). I thought that the really stiff ones wouldn't work well for me. And the pure cushioning ones are not what I was after either. There were about 3-4 that met my final criteria but the Sorbothane seemed good.

I wear orthotics made to order from a foot doctor and they cost about
$300.00. They are great for me as i have flat feet. However i do not wear heel cups as i don't know how to fit them in my shoes with the orthotics. There is not enough room. Any help for this? Lois
