Lateral heel pain

Posted by Steve F on 12/27/00 at 22:31 (035482)

I've had PF for several months now and have beem seeing a podiatrist for treatment. I also have pain on the outer side of the heel that seems at times to radiate up into the calf area.Is this related to the PF or could this be something to do with a nerve.

This could be tendonitis from the Peroneal brevis tendon. This tendon insert on the lateral aspect of the 5th metataral base. The function is to invert the foot during the walking cycle. You are probaby turning the foot into this position to avoid pain from the plantar fascitis. This is very common side effect to pf.
