How to find a good pod in new city?

Posted by Beverly on 12/28/00 at 11:40 (035504)

Hi docs,

I'm moving in two weeks. My foot doctor here does not know anyone in Fort Worth. The best he can do is photocopy his directory of foot and ankle specialists. When I began with this injury, everyone I called claimed to be good at treating PF but I quickly learned that was not the case. It took months to find a good doctor. Now, I have to start all over. Do you have any suggestions for how to find someone with a heavy caseload in PF - one who is not 'knife happy? and actually knows what he is doing?
Thanks,
Beverly

Barbara,

I'm delighted to hear someone in the Metroplex is just starting to use EWST.
Do contact Sue and see if she still likes her pod. According to the EWST message board, the only Texas doctors for EWST are in Houston. I'd like to know more about the pod in Richardson. I've decided if I do go the EWST route, I want someone who has done alot of them. For that reason, I'll either fly to N.J. or wait longer for the Texas docs to catch up. I keep hoping this will get its final FDA approval and get covered by insurance.

Hey, Doctor Z, do you know anyone in DFW?
Thanks,
Beverly

I don't know of any one that I have had personal experience with. There is a Dr. Sloan Gordon who I have talked over the podiatry online message doctor board.

He has been around for some time. I believe he is either doing or waiting for the ossatron. I have spoken to him in the past.

I think Dr. Gordon may be in Houston.

Sorry for the lack of podiatry doctor friends in Texas.
