Diabetic - Foot Surgery

Posted by Albert N. on 1/21/01 at 23:27 (037047)

I am researching the concerns relating to worn cartilage of the diabetic elderly.

What are the issues w/ surgery?

Are doctors willing to operate?

Is their specific pre and post care required?

Thanks in Advance,

Albert

This is a generalized question. A lot depends on if the diabeties is under control, how long has the diabeties been present, how much destruction has the diabeties done to the different endocine systems of the body and how long and invasive is the surgery going to be. The individuale patient and procedure has to be eveluated on a case by case basis. Dr. .
