Please - OUCH

Hi,
Thanks for taking time to read my e mail and hopefully help direct me.

I have the worlds flattest feet. I've dealt with it all my life. No problem.
Recently, the bottom of my right foot (I'm left handed if that means anything) below my heel, definitely the bottom of my foot hurts so badly that at the end of the day the pain is almost too intense to walk. I cannot really sit down at my job. It is swollen, and when I rest it there is some allievation. The moment I return to standing or walking on my foot the pain starts again and gets so bad after a few hours I am winching.
I did some research on the web and looked at definitions of gout and heel spurs, etc. I have no idea what it is.
Right now, after not going to work for the day because my foot hurt so bad from yesterday I have kept off it and still I can feel the bottom of my foot pounding. Yes I ice. Is there anything other than seeing a doctor that you can suggest? Or is I have to, do I just see any foot doctor or do I see a foot surgeon?
Thanks for your time.

The pain that you are experiencing needs immediate professional evaluation with an x-ray. Could be heel spur pain, Could be a tear in the plantar fascia , could even be a fracture . So see a Podiatric foot and ankle specialist asap.
