Hi Dr.Reid,
You are too sweet!! I was just getting ready to e-mail you and your husband. I am not doing well. My foot pain is getting really bad again. I have some fluid in the top of my foot right on my ankle ,and it is so painful. Also the tendon with the tenosynivitis has been very painful. The PF is about the same.

The sad thing is I am still waiting for the WC insurance to approve my pre-op with the specialist. This is crazy I have been waiting almost 10 weeks now.

I have a question for you . Am I doing more damage by walking and waiting for the surgery??? I would really appreciate your feelings on this....

I still wear the walking cast and I keep my foot and ankle in a ace bandage. I ice and use heat and I stay off my foot as much as possible.

Thank you for asking about me.

My best to you and Dr. Kosova ....Laurie R

Yeah, you probably are. I would go on crutches. Have you contacted the WC board directly? You should. You may want to get some representation. I think a lot of times they just sit on these things until some pressure is applied. 10 weeks is a very long time.

I do have an attorney ,and she said it has been way to long. So now my case is going to court so the judge can approve it. Get this , now I have to wait for a court date. The sad thing is after I had the tenogram and they found out I had tenosynivitis ,my pod wanted me to see the specialist right away. And since the specialist is a new doctor I can 't even make an appointment until I get the approval. Since I have an attorney I can't call the WC insurance ,they won't talk to me. By the time I am done waiting I think I am going to need a new foot.... Laurie R

Hi Laurie,

Be careful that you're not wrapping the Ace Bandage too tight. I used them for years, and sometimes you have to keep wrapping and re-wrapping them to get just enough support without having them too tight. If they're too tight, they could cause swelling and fluid build-up, too.

...Just a thought, wishing you the best always,

Janet

Hi Janet,
Thanks for the info and you are so right. Their were many times I had wrapped my foot and ankle to tight and it hurt so bad. I think I got it down now. A therapist I had a while ago showed me how to wrap it . She called it a figure eight wrap. If I do it right , it feels good. Your also right about how you have to keep wrapping it over and over. Even if it is on right and it feels good ,it does get loose and it has to be re wrapped.

Thanks Janet. I hope you are doing well today.
