plantarsworts

Posted by Vicki L on 4/09/01 at hrmin (044124)

how do you get these worts, and is it necessary to keep visiting a Dr.? The reason I ask is because my daughter has been seen three times, and she still has them. They froze them the first time, and the next just looked at them, and the last they cut the top off of them. They said to use mediplast pads, and to grind them off. please help me on this, because she says they are indeed painful, and she is only 11.

Hi,

The purpose of the sal acid plaster is to make the skin peel and with it the warts. I like to use Sal acid 40% with a padding and covered at this time. It will speed up the peeling. It can take a few weeks to see some relief and results. The padding will dispense the weight that is going into the warts. The warts are usually located under the heel bone or under the metatarsal bone which can cause alot of pain. You should use cut out padding and place the sal acid into the cutted out area. This needs to be done every day. I hope that this is helpful. I have a very good section on my web site with regard to warts and their treatment. Go to http://www.thefootspecialist.com and take a look at the wart treatment and the cause of wart. There are times that I do use either a flashlamp pulse dye laser or a Co2 laser to remove these painful pests
