Opinions on high tech visco elastic compoundPosted by Scott2 on 4/16/01 at 12:56 (044722)
I was visiting a site looking for goodies in dealing with plantar fascitis and found a non-custom orthotic made of high tech visco elastic compound that is designed to absorb 95% shock.
The company proudly claimed they work just as good as custom orthotics at a fraction of the cost ($50) and were a result of years of research by a podiatrist.
I printed out the page and showed it to my Podiatrist and he was not a big fan of this compound saying it does form around your heel but breaks down and does not support the heel by staying firm. I was wondering if anyone else had any comments about this and if anyone has tried using an orthotic made of this material?
