One year one month post-ESWT: Pain free

Posted by Dr. Zuckerman on 4/17/01 at 11:52 (044826)

Hi,

I just examined another one year post-op ESWT patient that was done by Dr. Z left foot. She was treated with the orabosone . The treatment was 16kv for 3000 pulses. She had the problem for over six months before the ESWT treatment. The other foot was done with an open pf release which took over one year to heal in the past.

She is in the data base. Her name is Claire Lucus. She can reached at 1-856-694-0664.

Dr. Z,
Were you using anaesthesia at the time of her treatment(foot block) and did you deliver all 3000 pulses in one treatment?

Hi,

I was using a local anesthetic (posterior tibial nerve block, sural nerve block, and some local infiltration into the medial tubercle treatment area.

The amount of pulses were 3000. This is pretty standard for me.

Yesterday did a patient without any local at all. 18kv 3000 pulses. He is doing well today has pain taking motrin , but working as a salesmen.

Dr. Z, I noticed she had her PF for 6 months. Have you had any long term, chronic pain, 7 years PF, patients cured?

Thanks
BCG

Hi,

Yes I have. The patients that have had ESWT for a long time greater then seven years have been cured. This is my proof that it was the treatment and not the pf justing getting better.
