Are heel spurs/calcium deposites/bone spurs the same thing and do they ever go away?

They are the same thing and no they don't disappear. They do heal so that the pain can go away. Heel spurs. and or calium deposits are due to the micro-tearing of the plantar fascia fibers. ( great picture in the heel pain book) the body responds by laying down bone in the torn areas to heal the fiber back to the bone. I hope that this is helpfu. By the way orthosis can help to reduce and correct the over normal pulling that is a cause for heel spur pain.
