5 weeks post op

Posted by Jen on 5/15/01 at 09:22 (047792)

Hi,
I have been having a great recovery from open pf and tts surgery. I was walking in the cam boot with crutches one week after surgery and progressed to cam boot without crutches one week after. I stayed in the cam boot for 2 weeks and then was told to progress from boot to sneaker gradually as tolerated. I was doing great in the sneaker for a week and all of a sudden I started to experience a warm burning sensation from shin down to sole of feet. My doctor told me to get back in the cam boot all day and use crutches if needed. Does this mean I just overdid it with the sneaker too soon and that I just need more time healing the foot before trying the sneaker again? I was concerned because it felt just like tts pain, where I was having no pain for 4 weeks.

Sounds like too much too soon. Back to the boot
