8 weeks post op

Posted by MarielleG on 5/21/01 at hrmin (048453)

Hi!

First, what a great service this is and how super it is to share our experiences in such a way!

I had surgery for Haglund's heel 8 weeks ago, the bone was shaved off and there was almost no interference with the achilles tendon, they only had loosen a tiny part of it. It seemed to have healed quite well and I was able to walk normally and everything, but now the scar seems to have 'hardened' in a way and also my heel again hurts way more than just a week ago. Especially if i have been sitting or laying for a while and then get up again. It hurts worst right where the achilles tendon attaches to the heelbone, and is very tender when i touch it.. any ideas? is this normal?

So it was ok and then started up with pain at the incision and limping. Is this the first time you started with closed back shoes. How has you activity level increased??

Thank you for fast reply,
No I have still not been wearing closed back shoes after my surgery, and I have not increased my level of activity, so that can not be the reason..

By the way, the pain is not at the incision, but where the achilles tendon attaches to the bone..

Have the doctor check the range of motion and examine the area. Strange that it become stiff all of the sudden
