Tammie

Tammie,

I'm sorry you can't sleep again. I know how the pain keeps
you up nights. It is worse at night because things are quiet
and there is nothing much to distract you..In the daytime,
there is the activity of your family and the other things
that involve your time..And while the pain is still there
those things capture your mind..

I have problems with the sleep thing myself, so I understand..

Hope you do get at least some sleep tonight..You need your
rest..

Going to try to sleep..

Hello and thank you for the kindness! I wish there was a chat here at heelspurs, it would pass the time at night so much faster lol! Sometimes I see someone post and think gee they are up to wish we could talk! As all is so quiet! then I sit and stare and read messages and back messages and play searching different areas on the commputer! I dont go to the reg. chats as they are to well just not for me lol! So I try to play untill my eyes are to tired to stay open lol sometimes I do take meds but I hate to rely on them . Sometimes I do laundry or anything I can do to stay busy , I dont sleep real late either I make myself get up by 8 as I figure then I wont be sleepless from to much in morning! Oh well I am grateful for my daytimes tho! I am so happy that I can walk on my foot and not my toes, that itself is relief!!!! So I have not given up hope as I hope u to keep the hope up someday you will be no pain and be able to sleep!!!! Why does your feet keep you up? You have like said how I feel in this note u posted how true! Take care my night friend!!!

Tammie,

It would be fun to have chat at heelspurs.com but email is nice too
and this board is a blessing. :)

Hey, it's great that you don't have to walk on your toes anymore!
It takes a while to recover from the surgery, so I hope with some
more time you'll be feeling much better. Just remember not to
over do when you do go back to work and just let them push you
in that wheelchair if need be..I know all about cement floors
and being a Nurse's Aide as I did that last year..Had to quit
because I couldn't lift heavy men. My patients used to call
me Tiny because I am 5 ft tall..I was good at patient care
except for the lifting..

I am a hotel desk clerk now and love that but still more
cement floors. A month or two after I started at the hotel
my left foot started killing me..My heel was the start of it
and then a couple of months later my ankle started swelling
and I have lots of tingling and numbness..The numbness
and the tingling is very disturbing at night and it hurts
to lay my heel/ankle on the bed, so it is usually a restless night..

Work is trying to work with me..They are letting me be
phone operator most of the time so I can be off my feet
and the new manager who used to have PF has ordered
a rubber mat for the front desk area because his feet
are killing him now..He keeps asking each day if I am
able to work..I'd like to take a break but I don't
have enough vacation or sick time built up to make a
difference..I need the insurance and security this job
offers me too, having been out of work so much in the
past few years before the foot thing happened. At least
the new manager knows what I am going through and
seems willing to help..

Taking one day at a time...But have to go to bed early tonight
as they expect me to work at 5:30am for a big check out tomorrow
of the Indy 500 race attendees..Two hours earlier than usual..
I just hope I can sleep..Good grief why do they need to check
out so early????

So here is hoping you have a restful night. My fingers are crossed
for you..But sleep in a little and pamper yourself tomorrow and
sleep a few hours for me too..

Smiles...

Hi , lol there is no sleep for the wicked, which I must surly be! I am used to getting up at 4 am as that is the time I get up for work, it will be hard if thease late nights continue! But then again I may be more tired or exhausted from work heheh and will sleep like a baby! Whatever Itry and take one day at a time . It is interesting that we had the same job! I do love my work and I do believe my employer will work with me somewhat, it will be the girls that I work with that will resent it I believe! As it grew old before when I had trouble walking and they did try to help but I know they resented having to do extra walking themselves! I am pretty strong willed and I tend to not let myself be helped and I have never used a wheel chair and I most likely wont start yet. But I will try to go a bit lighter on the walking end. I need to get back as I feel as though I am loosing my sanity if u know what I mean. I am shoe shopping again as I am looking for the best I can find for my feet and orthodics, so as to have that taken care of , plus I must say I had purchased a ankle support well it was awful but someone told me to try different wrap, well I bought a larger ankle brace and it is more comfortable I like the support it gives to my ankle and my foot. I wondered about taping when i return to work but not sure that i should do that.I want to take as many percautions as I can , so not to do any damage but I do want to return as soon as I can! Well I hope you get a good rest when u get home tomorrow, I am going to help my hubby, he visits many stores to adjust the bread lol so will tag with him , and maybe we will go see movie Pearl harbor. Take care friend and hope your night is good and no pain just sleep angels.

Tammie,

Sounds like you and your family had a good togetherness
time going to see Pearl Harbor.. Neil and I plan to go
sometime soon.

I had a take it easy day. I got today off when I didn't
expect it and since i have tomorrow and the next day
off also, it will give me a chance to rest up for a busy
weekend at work..

Yes, I know my family doesn't understand my foot pain
either..or the time I spend on the board. Neil is busy
trying to distract me off of here right now..

Good luck sleeping tonight..Hope the angels are with you too..

Sweet dreams..
Paula
